Vijay and Ileana – The new pair for Tamil 3 idiots

3 idiots was a Hindi movie that broke all box office records. The movie starring Aamir Khan, Sharmaan Joshi and R Madhavan went on to become a huge hit and was appreciated by the critics as well as the masses. It is of no surprise then when director Shankar decided to remake the movie in Tamil.

The lead actor is Vijay and the remaining two actors are yet to be finalized though rumors say that Simbu and Mahesh Babu have been finalized for the roles. There were also a lot of speculations about the heroine of the film but now it has finally been confirmed that the role of Kareena Kapoor will be played by none other than Ileana. There were many actresses vying for that role, but it was Ileana who struck gold.

She was supposed to start opposite Vikram in his movie titled 2 but the project was eventually dropped. Director Shankar had a lot to think about before casting the perfect substitute for Kareena Kapoor. The role essayed by Kareena was a really memorable role and the director wanted to do full justice to the role. After a lot of deliberation, the director decided to cast Ileana for the role.

Ileana is extremely excited to work with the famous director and says that she loved the movie and that this is almost like a dream come true for her. She is preparing for the roe by studying Kareena in the movie by watching the movie again and again. She hopes to do as much justice to the role as Kareena did.

The remake of the movie has been in the news now for a long time. There were a lot of rumors regarding the casting of the heroes for the movie. R Madhavan who acted in the Hindi movie opted out of the Tamil version. Speculations suggest that the director is now looking to cast either Siddharth or Silamabarasn.

The movie is likely to be released only in the summer of 2011. The shooting is slated to begin in the early weeks of November.
