‘Endhiran’ which is also pronounced as ‘Enthiran’ is a typical superstar Rajnikanth movie, which is loaded with some racy entertainment. Some sequences may look ridiculous, crazy and unbelievable, but ‘everything is fair in a Rajnikanth’s movie

Story

Dr. Vaseegaran (Rajinikanth) is a scientist, who is proficient in his subject and can be categorized as a Genius. Dr. Vaseegaran creates a robot which is technically a ‘ Andro-humanoid’ machine and names it as Chitti. Chitti is impeccable machine, which has everything similar to that of a human, but is theoretically a robotic machine, loaded with cables, wires, and metal. Chitti can think like a human and can do anything and everything. It can become a doctor in one instance and can also turn into a ring master for the bad guys.

Dr. Vaseegaran dedicates his ten years of his entire life in accomplishing his dream project, which is creating Chitti. So, he never cares or concentrates on his personnel life and so he looses some valuable and precious moments.

Sana (Aishwarya Rai) is a medical student, who enters into the life of Dr. Vaseegaran. She is his fiancé, but is not amused with his work or his care towards her. They quarrel all the time and then kiss and make up. Sana always has a complaint, that Vasee is not at interested in her.

Dr. Vaseegaran’s aim is to make chitti join the Indian army and serve the nation, as a replacement for a human being. He wants to create a machine, which can avoid humans involving in war and sacrificing their lives.

AIRD has to give the permission to such kind of inventions and Dr. Bohra is the head of it. He is against Chitti and Dr. Vaseegaran as expected, due to a reason.

So, chitti remains as a machine friend to Dr. Vaseegaran, until one day, his neural Schema is captured and corrupted and at this moment, Vasee induces some emotions and feelings in the form of a chip into Chitti.

This brings a different twist to the story as the robot Chitti develops feelings towards Sana and this brings in more problems for Dr. Vaseegaran.

Then a sudden change in the story happens and Vasee is faced with some consequences, which can affect the human kind, due to Chitti. Vasee is cornered to destruct his on creativity, which is Chitti.

Will he succeed or not and what happens in this process is a big suspense, which has to be seen on the big screen.

Performances

Superstar Rajnikanth looks amazing with his grand wigs and heavy make up in ‘Endhiran’. His acting is impeccable and so does his dance. He is a true actor and deserves immense respect in the Indian cinema industry. Director Shanker has taken every care, to make Rajini look younger and apt to Aishwarya Rai.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looks simply amazing and her acting, dance, elegance, beauty are un-expressible.

The other characters like Danny, Karunas and others have played their roles very well and add some life to the movie ‘Endhiran/Enthiran’

Music of AR Rehman is a highlight. Although, it was not up to the mark as expected, on screen, with the amalgamating of choreography, scenic locations, picturization, lavish sets, costumes, and what not, the music is perfect for the subject. Kilmanjaro as expected is one of the highlights of the movie.

Director Shanker has made his dream come true. ‘Endhiran’ was his dream project from the past 10 years and now it has been shaped out. The director needs to be applauded for the movie and he deserves it, for his time, dedication, creativity and hard work.

The last 30 minutes of “Endhiran” are captivating, breathtaking and of course are vital to the whole film.

On the whole, the movie ‘Endhiran’ is a master piece. But some audiences may not be happy, due to some ridiculous and crazy scenes in the movie. But all is accepted in a Rajinikanth movie and everything is done to highlight his heroic status.

The movie is a must watch entertainer and everyone one will feel that the investment made on the ticket is worth every penny.

So, what are you waiting for, go grab a ticket as soon as possible.

Endhiran, which was initially titled as ROBOT is an upcoming Tamil which is slated to be released by April 2010. Though the date has been fixed as October 1st,2010 the unit sources of Endhiran are quite confident that this magnum opus will be released much earlier than stated.

Endhiran is a dream project of ace director Shanker who has a background of directing blockbusters such as Sivaji, Nayak, Anniyan and Boys. Superstar Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Sathanam and Karunas are the cast of this film and R. Rathnavelu who is holding Cinematography department form the crew. The story of Endhiran is penned by Balakumaran, Sujatha Rangarajan, and S. Shanker. Music is composed by Indian Music maestro AR Rahman.

The movie is revealed to be a mega budget project with almost 190 crores as investments and has attained a record to be the highest budget films in Tamil Film Industry. This movie is said to be simultaneously dubbed into English and Telugu. The English version will have the title of ROBOT and the Telugu version will be titled as “Yanthram” likely.

Ayangaran International which has Chief executive Producer C. Karunamoorthy as the head were firstly the financiers of this Magnum Opus. But later on, as the recession hit the film industry, they opted out and Chennai Based SUN Pictures has owned the producing rights.

Endhiran Movie Review

Disclosed facts by Director Shanker about Endhiran

• ENDHIRAN was supposed to be titled as Robot, but in order to receive some credit from the Chennai film association for making a Tamil titled film; it was later on titled as Endhiran by the director.

• In the year 2001, Shanker wanted to start the movie as Robot with Kamal Hassan and Preity Zinta in the lead, but the movie got shelved due to budget constraints.

• After making the movie Sivaji: The boss with a high budget, Shanker was satisfied with its response at the box office. His confidence grew to go for a mega budget film and started to work on his dream project Endhiran

• As soon as the media smelled the point, it was gossiped that Shanker is going to make a Telugu movie with either Chiranjeevi or Mahesh Babu in the lead. Later on Ajith’s name came onto the surface. Bollywood fame Shahrukh Khan was also offered the project by Shanker himself in October 2007, but he was not convinced with the story and so backed out of the project. Ajith Kumar and Aamir Khan also were not ready to take a risk of putting 2 years of their precious film career on hold.

• Rajinikanth was later on approached and as he had immense confidence on the director, Rajinikanth agreed to do the film.

• In January 2008, the project was announced with Rajinikanth in the lead and the female search was on. Finally after considering several actresses like Asin, Priyanka Chopra, Trisha, Shriya, Deepika Padukone, Nayantara one name was finalized and that was Former miss world and international Fame Aishwarya Rai.

• Aishwarya Rai received a payment of Rs 6 crores for this project and is the only actress in India who has been paid this astronomical sum.

Endhiran Updates

• ENDHIRAN was the movie which began on February 15^th, 2008 in Chennai and a portfolio was clicked with Rajinikanth and Aishwarya in different costumes. Shanker and Cinematographer Ratnavelu went to a world tour which covered Peru, Vienna in Austria, and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil plus Hanoi in Vietnam.

• On September 8^th, 2008 the films first schedule took place at Peru where few scenes and a song 5 minute length song was picturised on Rajini and Aishwarya Rai. Raju Sundaram choreographed this movie and the location of Machu Piccchu was on the background.

• Few scenes which included one action scenes were filmed in United States and Brazil.

• The whole crew flew back to Goa, India and talkie part was completed which was 11 days in length.

• The third schedule was held at Himachal Pradesh and then around Chennai.

• SSN College on engineering which is based in Vellore was selected as the next location. Around 410 students were asked to act as extras and scenes involving Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai, Santhanam and Karunas were filmed on camera.
